Accessible Homes Team

Andrew Rasmussen is a MN licensed contractor#20626585 and co-owner of Accessible Homes LLC. He has been working in the construction industry for several years and has a bachelor of science degree in both finance and economics from Bethel University.

Carisa Rasmussen is co-owner of Accessible Homes LLC, Carisa studied Communications at Northwestern College. “I am dedicated to carefully monitoring the successful completion of the home accessibility goals of the individuals and families Accessible Homes serves.” Carisa is also a volunteer for the Disability Linkage Line at the Metropolitan Center for Independent Living.

Carole Abbas is a Licensed and Certified Occupational Therapy/ Accessibility Specialist. She is our consultant for Accessible Homes, conducting home assessments to determine the needs of the clients we serve. Carole has served with excellence in traditional settings such as long-term care facilities and local elementary schools. “Through my work with Accessible Homes I am able to reach more deeply into the community, to reach people where they live. Long-term wellness and quality of life can improve in large part by making a home barrier-free, which Accessible Homes is able to accomplish for the people they serve.”

Mike Chevrette is a consultant for Accessible Homes' commercial consulting division. Mike is the Executive Director of Access for All, he is the author of The Minnesota Travel Guide for Persons with Disabilities. Mike is a support consultant for Goodwill-Easter Seals in Minneapolis. On Friday, July 13, 1979, while swimming in Lake Superior, he broke his spine after diving into shallow water. Mike has been very active in the disability community, time and time again he talks about how important it is to create bridges between people with and without disabilities through education. He has been a great resource for business', organizations and government in both education and consulting.

The three primary members of the Accessible Homes team, Andrew, Carisa and Carole have all been certified by the National Home builders association to build and remodel accessible Homes (CAPS).
